Turkey vs Mexico for dental work — which is better?
For US patients, the choice between Turkey and Mexico comes down to savings versus convenience. Turkey (with major clinics in Antalya and other cities) offers the deepest discounts — especially on full-mouth implants and veneers — plus high-volume, modern clinics and a genuine vacation, but it's a 9–11 hour flight from the East Coast, making follow-up trips harder. Mexico (border towns like Los Algodones and Tijuana, or resort cities like Cancún) is far more convenient for Americans: short flights or even drives, easy second visits, and prices well below US levels, though typically a bit higher than Turkey on the largest cases. Both countries have many internationally trained dentists and clinics geared to US patients. Choose Turkey when maximizing savings on a big case and you'd enjoy the trip; choose Mexico when proximity, easy follow-up, and a shorter journey matter more. Either way, vetting the specific clinic matters far more than the country.

Cost: Turkey usually wins
Turkey generally offers the lowest prices, particularly for full-arch implants and veneers. Mexico is still far cheaper than the US, often landing between US and Turkish prices on major work. At our partner clinic, a single implant and crown starts from around $795, All-on-4 from around $4,650 per arch, and a full-mouth All-on-6 across both arches from around $11,300.
Convenience: Mexico wins
For most Americans, Mexico is dramatically easier to reach — short flights, border crossings, simple follow-up visits. Turkey is a long-haul trip better suited to a single comprehensive treatment combined with a vacation. That said, the practical burden of Turkish travel is smaller than it looks when a clinic includes the hotel and airport transfers: at Taki Dent, the accommodation and VIP transfers are inside the treatment price, so the main cost you add is your own flight (~$700–$1,200 round trip).
Quality: comparable, clinic-dependent
Both have excellent and mediocre clinics. Turkey's top clinics handle enormous international volume and use major implant brands; Mexico's best border and resort clinics are well-versed in US patients. In both, your vetting of the specific clinic determines quality far more than the country on the map. The most useful single filter in Turkey is the government credential — the Turkish Ministry of Health International Health Tourism Authorization, which our partner clinic holds (Certificate ST-6335).
Travel and aftercare
- Turkey: 9–11h flight; plan one thorough trip, ideally with a follow-up if doing implants.
- Mexico: short trip; easy to return for adjustments.
For any large case in either country, line up a local US dentist for routine follow-up before you travel, and keep full records of the implants, materials and warranty so a dentist at home can act on them.
