Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026. This policy may be updated from time to time; the date above reflects the most recent revision.
My Dentist Brooklyn Consulting LLC ("My Dentist Brooklyn," "we," "us," "our") operates mydentistbrooklyn.com (the "Site") and provides dental treatment consulting and coordination services connecting New York patients with our disclosed partner clinic, Taki Dent, in Antalya, Turkey. Because our service involves reviewing dental photos, X-rays, medical and dental history, and existing treatment quotes so that we and Taki Dent can prepare a preliminary cost estimate, this policy is written for a company that collects health-related information — not only a company that publishes articles. Please read it before you send us any personal or health-related information, including through our contact page, our cost-estimate intake, email, or WhatsApp.
My Dentist Brooklyn Consulting LLC is a Brooklyn-based dental treatment consulting and coordination company. Dental treatment is provided by our partner clinic, Taki Dent, in Antalya, Turkey. We do not provide dental treatment at our Brooklyn office.
Information we collect
- Contact information: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and any other contact details you give us.
- Health-related and dental information: dental photos, X-rays and scans, the medical and dental history you describe to us, information about your symptoms or treatment goals, and copies of any existing quotes or treatment plans from other providers, when you choose to share them — for example, through our cost-estimate intake or by email.
- Communications: the content of emails, WhatsApp messages, and other messages you exchange with us, and records of when they were sent.
- Payment-related information: billing name and address and limited payment details if you pay a consulting fee directly to us. We do not store full payment-card numbers ourselves; card payments, where accepted, are processed by a third-party payment processor.
- Technical and analytics data: standard log and content-delivery data — such as IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, and pages viewed — collected automatically, including through Google Analytics 4 and similar tools.
Why we collect and use this information
- To review your case, prepare a preliminary cost estimate, and coordinate a written treatment estimate with Taki Dent.
- To communicate with you about your case, appointments, and travel logistics.
- To organize your records so a treating dentist at Taki Dent can carry out a clinical assessment.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site and our consulting service, and to understand how visitors use it.
- To meet our legal, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use dental photos, X-rays, or medical or dental history you share with us for advertising purposes.
Sharing with Taki Dent, and cross-border transfer to Turkey
Because dental treatment is provided by Taki Dent, our disclosed partner clinic, at its facility in Antalya, Turkey — not by us — coordinating your care requires sharing relevant information with Taki Dent's clinical team, including the dental photos, X-rays, history, and existing quotes described above. This means your information is transferred outside the United States, to Turkey, for the purpose of clinical assessment and treatment coordination. We only make this transfer with your consent, which we ask for as part of our intake process before sending your information to Taki Dent. Turkey's data-protection framework differs from US state law; by consenting to treatment coordination, you agree that your information may be handled under Turkish law once it reaches Taki Dent, which is responsible for its own handling of your information as the treating clinic.
Other service providers we use
We use third-party service providers — for example, cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing — to help us operate the Site and our consulting service. These providers process information on our behalf and are permitted to use it only to provide services to us, not for their own independent marketing purposes, except as required by law.
Email and WhatsApp communications
We communicate with patients by email and WhatsApp because that is how most people prefer to reach us. Standard email and WhatsApp messaging are convenient, but they are not a substitute for a dedicated secure health-information system, and message content may be retained by those platforms under their own terms. Where we offer a more secure upload option for dental photos, X-rays, or records, we recommend using it for sensitive documents; if you choose to send this information by email or WhatsApp instead, you do so with an understanding of that channel's own security practices, which are outside our control.
How long we keep your information
We retain personal and health-related information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — including preparing your estimate, coordinating your treatment with Taki Dent, keeping accurate records of the coordination we provided, and meeting our legal and accounting obligations — and we delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed for those purposes, or sooner upon your verified request, except where we are required to keep it for longer by law.
Your access, correction and deletion rights
You may ask us, at any time, to access, correct, or delete the personal or health-related information we hold about you, or to tell you who we have shared it with in connection with your case (for example, Taki Dent, for coordination of a treatment estimate). To make a request, contact us through our contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Deleting information central to your case — such as your dental photos or history — may limit our ability to continue coordinating an estimate or treatment on your behalf.
Security and access controls
We are a dental treatment consulting and coordination company, not a hospital, dental practice, or health plan, so HIPAA's specific requirements for "covered entities" and "business associates" may not directly apply to us the way they apply to a doctor's office. That does not change how carefully we handle your information. We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal and health-related information — consistent with the approach required of businesses under New York's SHIELD Act — including restricting access to your file to personnel who need it to do their job, maintaining logs of who has accessed sensitive records, and using reasonable technical measures intended to protect information in storage and in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data breach procedure
If we experience a security incident affecting your personal or health-related information, we will investigate and take steps to contain it, and, where required by law, notify affected individuals and any applicable regulator without unreasonable delay. Depending on the nature of the information involved, this may include obligations under the Federal Trade Commission's Health Breach Notification Rule — which can apply to companies outside traditional HIPAA coverage that maintain identifiable health records — and under New York's data-breach notification law.
Analytics and advertising technologies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type). We may also use standard advertising or conversion-tracking pixels to measure the performance of our own marketing. This aggregated usage data is separate from the dental photos, X-rays, history, and quotes you share with us directly, and we do not combine it with your health-related information for advertising purposes.
Cookies
Google Analytics and similar tools use cookies to measure usage. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by disabling cookies in your browser. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. If you are coordinating care for a minor, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and are consenting to share their information with us and with Taki Dent on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal or health-related information directly from a child under 13 without such consent.
State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights over your personal information — for example, the right to know what categories of information we hold, to request deletion, or to opt out of certain uses — under applicable state privacy laws. To exercise any such right, contact us through our contact page; we will respond consistent with applicable law.
Third-party links
The Site links to third-party websites, including government health resources, insurers, dental-industry organizations, and our partner clinic Taki Dent. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; review their policies separately before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including as our services, legal obligations, or the systems we use for handling health-related information evolve. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
